the New Game called, “Who’s an Asshole?!”

Good ol’ Brookings Institute offers this food for thought by one of their “brightest”. Of course, You’ll have to read it, but it shouldn’t take long – he uses simple words.
I could have let it go as just another moron spouting off, except for the advise to the president at the end:

The net effect of these suggested budgetary changes of just under $2.5 billion a year is a modest investment in our homeland security. Even in these tough times, it is affordable. As budget season opens in Washington, such an agenda should be considered by the new administration and new Congress.

After that, He is the Asshole! Why, might the uninitiated ask? Let’s just, only for a few sentences, consider the grand total effect of “Terrorism” in our physical lives, and then contrast that to say, AIDS, Drunk Driving fatalities, Deaths From Domestic Abuse, or just about any other kind of statistic about how people are killed, injured, etc. In 2007, 12K people died in drunk driving accidents; 13K in 2006. AIDS took 14,500+ in 2007. Less than 3000 people died in the collapsing of the WTC and crashing into the Pentagon.
And this Asshole wants to give out 2.5 Billion to protect against imaginary diseases, train Cops who’ve never seen a terrorist, all while AIDS is real and killing – including cops. What The Fuck is wrong with these people?! This isn’t even getting into the impressive stupidity he brings up, like setting up every public space as a “defensive site”. I could go on – but I’ll stop with saying, “Michael E. O’Hanlon, Senior Fellow, Foreign Policy @ the Brookings Institute, You Are An Asshole!”
