A good audience is never kind.
I would tease you all night –
-if you could stand it.
They should shout and demand more.
Drive you to edges you’ve not known –
-bring you back again for new directions.
The poets intensity is directly related.
if you scream, I would go faster –
-then stop just before you collapse.
Like a roller coaster, they need drops and tumbles and spins.
When you finally let go and give in –
-I will hold your head above the waves.
A good poet is always kind.
