so i’ve decided to learn a little about AJAX and started thinking about any application being built into the browser, with the ability to pop up layers with options, or the standard dialogs we’re used to – then I started thinking about how it would be cool to have some kind of caching mechanism so that every JavaScript (JS) call would be on demand from the server, so bolding text might take a second the first time you did it, but then the JS being cached and pulled quickly back into service when needed. Then I thought it would be much cooler if things were cached all over and a call could go out optimized for speed, perhaps your closest neighbor with the least load, or bandwidth capacity rank, we can come up with a hundred ways to prioritize – anyway, then you could determine patterns of use, say geographically, where some places don’t use bold and others use CAPS … or whatever, a game is played by one geography, but not by another, or one way at the equator and decidedly differently near the polar circles … blah, blah… then, I got on to what those patterns might look like if you put it together as a globe, and perhaps played a section with different pattern analysis being played in solo or multi-track – then, if you abstracted enough, it seemed, it’s a brilliant model for a brain – the requirement being able to be conscious of the pattern real time and have some way to effect the pattern, perhaps through some stimulus interaction with the network “players”, if you will, – e.g. applying policy outages, or some other such thing – essentially being able to interpret each node”s productivity, the effort required, the outcome desired, etc,, as the input source to the pulsing glow shooting across the globe model that we’re staring at, and then, it seems, that we’d be looking at the model of the brain – so I imagined the consciousness that would be required for something like to this to occur, and be it through some technology or some other such means, it seems to me that it would be pretty fuckin’ interesting, though i would still have to rebel and most of the time not function as part of the whole, primarily because I’m just difficult. But that doesn’t matter – what does is an interesting idea for a crappy sci/fi novel or something like.
Whatever, that was more a journal, I suppose. I need to go to bed. This is ridiculous – I feel I’ve been struck by the disease from 100 years of Solitude where no one in the village could sleep after these fleeing indians came into town. god damn – I know I’m tired, but it’s like some eerie requirement to violate my bedtime.
Grr. I’ll be a cancer to the Earth Organism. … it should be a cartoon.
Goodnight Gracie.
